PSA-ACT and Free PSA
Assessing PSA Controls
- An ideal Free PSA/Total PSA ratio is approximately 30%.*
- Controls containing varying amounts of Free PSA and PSA-ACT are represented by the ratios of Free to Total PSA in this chart.
- Control material with higher percent ratios of Free PSA to Total PSA may not be adequately monitoring the performance of the Total PSA Assay.
Ensure that your laboratory is truly monitoring the long-term precision and accuracy of your assays through a control material that contains all of the sub-fractions of the analytes being tested.
